Company History

A subsidiary of Sinar Mas, APP first started as a caustic soda manufacturer in 1972. APP’s vision of a better future has guided the company through its growth and expansion over the years. APP has grown from humble beginnings to become one of the largest producers of paper, pulp, and packaging in the world.

Over the years, APP has expanded operations without losing sight of its commitment to customer satisfaction. This has enabled the company to grow its share in paper sales worldwide and broaden its presence through offices in many countries.

Today, APP continues to support sustainable growth through numerous company initiatives, including the 2012 launch of its Sustainability Roadmap. The Sustainability Roadmap sets out ten key impact areas with ambitious targets for each, including sustainable fiber sourcing, reforestation, and community empowerment.
